House Albert

Category: Residential Addition

Client: Private

Location: Pretoria

House Albert could've been described as a stereotypical, '70s, Pretoria family house. The Albert Residence needed a facelift! With some changes and clever alterations, Werkhof Architects transformed the house into a contemporary, yet family-friendly home. New materials, like stone, concrete and steel were introduced and well-thought-through spaces were designed to fit into the existing.

High contrasting colours and materials create a contemporary tention that fits the genius loci of the Waterkloof suburb. The interior architecture was carefully designed to consist of clean lines and simple, yet sophisticated details. This enables the client to inhabit the space as he wishes since he has a clean pallet to work on.
