The branding for Botke, a boutique brewery interested in the sustainability of making craft beer, was focused around duality of beer as a beverage. Beer, being a drink that is simultaneously robust and refined, has a certain romanticism around it. Our conceptual approach was to investigate the traditional African way of beer making and this later lead to the logo design being an African beer pot. We also incorporated the brand with its surroundings by creating a closed loop of production. This was achieved by introducing cows into the production loop and feeding them the waste produce that normally goes to the refuse bin. The whole process is also public. While you enjoy your beer you can see the cows eating the waste product.
Because we were involved from the conception of the brand up until the design development of their new building we were able to have a great impact on the brand as a whole.
